Kongpo is situated in southeastern Tibet, in the vicinity of Nyungchu river. Mount Namchagbarwa and Zangdog Pelri Temple (Guru Padmasambhava’s Pureland) in Kongpo are visited by thousands of pilgrims and tourists alike.
Over 50% of Kongpo is forest land. The climate is mild and humid.
